Cold Office Water — Frequently Asked Questions
Here are the most frequently asked questions about our bottleless water coolers. Filter by category or expand an item to see the answer.
Basics
A bottleless cooler connects to your building’s water line, filters the water through a multi-stage system, and dispenses it on demand — eliminating 5-gallon jugs. Many models include in-tank UV for continuous bacteria control.
Not all models are touchless. Units like the C-4000 and S-4 include touchless dispensing; some others use manual controls. Ask us which touchless model fits your needs.
Absolutely — from small offices to large facilities. We’ll size the right model for your team and demand.
Yes. Bottleless systems eliminate plastic jugs and reduce delivery-truck emissions — often saving hundreds to thousands of pounds of plastic waste per year.
Installation & Service
Yes. We connect to your existing cold-water line and a standard outlet. We don’t perform electrical work — we’ll use an extension cord where possible or recommend an electrician if needed. Standard installation is included; major plumbing is quoted for approval.
We use a thin, durable, food-grade ¼″ water line (about as thick as a pencil). Where possible, we route it through drop ceilings or inside walls for a clean look. If a surface run is needed, we keep it tight and straight with neat clips or a low-profile casing, depending on the space.
Fittings are high-quality, leak-resistant parts — we don’t use cheap components. We pressure-test connections, tie everything off neatly, and clean up the work area before we leave.
You’re covered. Request service at coldofficewater.com/repair-request or call 888-538-2365. Rentals include standard repairs at no cost.
Yes — we are fully insured and can provide a certificate of insurance (COI) upon request. If your building requires specific wording, we can issue the COI naming building management as the certificate holder and include additional insured language if needed.

Yes, within our service area. We’ll disconnect, move, and reinstall. Most moves are free; complex re-routing may incur a small fee.
Filtration & Water Quality
We offer 3-, 4-, and 5-stage options plus UF and RO depending on water quality: sediment → carbon block → GAC → (optional) RO → (optional) remineralization. Many models include in-tank UV.
Usually no — NYC water is already low in TDS. In parts of New Jersey or upstate NY, RO can help. We’ll evaluate your water and recommend the right setup.
Multi-stage systems reduce chlorine, sediment, particulates (including microplastics), and VOCs. UF/RO target finer contaminants; in-tank UV adds bacterial control. We match filtration to your source.
Typically every 12–15 months, depending on water and usage. For rentals, all filter changes are free — even if replaced earlier than scheduled.
Sparkling & Ice
Yes. Systems like the S-4 provide hot, cold, ambient, and sparkling water via built-in carbonation. A full CO₂ cylinder and regulator are included at install; refills are handled via local gas vendors.
Frequency depends on usage and tank size. A small office typically replaces a cylinder every few months. We recommend trusted gas suppliers and you can keep a spare for uninterrupted sparkling.
Yes — models like C-720 + Ice and C-900 + Ice dispense chilled water and produce about 44–100 lbs/day. We also supply larger commercial ice (e.g., Hoshizaki) for kitchens, bars, warehouses, and hotels.
Plans & Billing
Your rental includes free installation, all filter changes, routine service, and maintenance. No hidden fees for standard service or replacements.
